Armed with the basic sewing skills and an awareness of key sewing terminology, many projects can be tackled independently. We can provide workshops for beginners on sewing buttons, hemming garments, setting up and using a sewing machine, hand stitching techniques and basic pattern cutting.

We are very passionate about revitalising what’s already in your wardrobe. We can deliver workshops on visible mending, basic darning, strengthening and reinforcing seams and decorative stitch to cover stains.

When a garment reaches the end of its first purpose, it can always be turned into something new. Creating a second purpose for your old clothing can be fun and rewarding. We can deliver workshops where participants bring an old item of clothing to be reimagined into cushions, tote bags and decorative displays (to name but a few ideas!). We can also deliver workshops where an old garment is altered into a new garment, e.g. jumper into a jumper vest, jeans to shorts, cropping tops, etc. This can enable old garments to be loved again!

Fancy a bigger task? We love a collective community making project. If you have a youth activities group, a sewing club or even just a group of friends up for a challenge, we can facilitate a series of workshops in which the group collaborate on a fashion collection made from reused, recycled and deadstock fabrics. This is always an exciting and fulfilling task with the project culminating in a professional fashion shoot to really show off the groups efforts.
