first collection product run-through

Introducing the first ever collection drop from SAME FOOT, this twelve piece collection comes just in time for the warmer months ahead with realistic summer knitwear included (because we all know we’ll probably still need it in Scotland!). Carry on reading to hear more about the collection and the processes behind it. You can shop the collection here.

SAME FOOT founder, Jodie, explores the process of creating the first collection:

When an idea sits in your head for over two years, it can feel pretty daunting dusting down the sewing machine and finally bringing the garments to life. However, this collection came pretty naturally. Like a magpie, I’d been collecting fabrics and threads for several years - carrying them with me as I moved from flat to flat in London and then in Glasgow. So when it came to creating garments using unwanted and unloved textiles, I knew I’d need to start at home, with my own little stash. Carefully selected and curated, this collection gives these fabrics a new life. From charity shops to end of roll slices of material to the heap of denim cut-offs religiously kept for ‘just in case’, they all form something new.

This collection has been created and curated over the last two months, each piece cut, sewn and pressed thoughtfully from my Glasgow home studio. Some elements of the garments began their journey much earlier, before the conception of SAME FOOT, in December 2020, where in lockdown I began to sew little strips of denim together without any idea of an outcome.

Based on my own personal style, these garments were always going to have to be loved by myself before anyone else. Many are constructed with the shapes and silhouettes of my favourite items from my own wardrobe, while other pieces have spontaneously taken shape with the desire to adjust, alter and deconstruct pre-existing charity shop garments.

Most importantly, these pieces are designed to make their wearer’s feel special. Whether that’s the intricate embroidery details, the softness of the fabrics or the side slits which delicately showcase glimpses of skin, I hope you love them as much as I do!

Fret not! More pieces are coming and yes, there will also be menswear, unisex garments and a greater range of sizes! Please see this as us dipping our toes in the water. There’s lots more to come - and if you’re wanting something in particular, shoot us a message, we’d love to fulfil your requests!
